Is Pork Bad For You Or Is It Raised Wrong….
I hear it all the time—“pork is the worst meat for you.”
And honestly… When you look at how most pork is raised, I understand why people feel that way.
In conventional systems, pigs are often raised indoors in tightly confined barns. Many never see sunlight or have access to fresh soil. Because of these conditions, practices like tail docking, teeth trimming, and routine antibiotics are commonly used to prevent injury and illness in crowded environments. Their feed is often low-quality and can include sprayed grains or byproducts.
But that’s not how we raise our pigs.
At Leach Family Farms, our pigs are raised outdoors where they can root, roam, and behave the way pigs were designed to. During the warmer months, they are rotationally grazed and regularly moved onto fresh pasture.
We feed them a high-quality ration that is free from herbicides, pesticides, and glyphosate. Their mineral program includes natural supports like garlic, and we do not use antibiotics, hormones, steroids, or vaccines.
We also choose not to dock tails or trim teeth—our pigs are raised in an environment where those interventions simply aren’t necessary.
We believe that when animals are raised this way—with care, space, and intention—it results in pork that is cleaner, healthier, and something you can feel good about feeding your family.
If you’ve ever questioned pork, you’re not wrong to ask.
We just believe there’s a better way to raise it.
